Description
The VOID Acoustics Stasys 118 is a high-performance, reflex-loaded passive subwoofer designed to deliver exceptional low-frequency output with precision and control, built around traditional acoustic principles refined through VOID’s Stasys design philosophy. It features a single 18-inch neodymium low-frequency driver with a high-excursion 4-inch voice coil, capable of handling 1.2 kW AES, providing powerful, articulate bass for demanding professional sound reinforcement applications.
To extract maximum performance, the Stasys 118 enclosure has undergone advanced resonance mapping procedures used across the Stasys low-frequency range. This process has informed material selection, internal brace positioning and cabinet geometry to minimise destructive resonances and cabinet coloration, resulting in a structurally optimised enclosure with minimal mass and significantly increased acoustic output.
Extensive transducer research and comparative testing led to the development of a bespoke 18-inch driver, with careful optimisation of cone materials, surround designs, voice coil topology and magnetic flux characteristics. These refinements, combined with precise enclosure tuning, deliver exceptional low-frequency extension, clarity and impact beyond conventional subwoofer designs.
Constructed from 18 mm birch plywood, the Stasys 118 offers a robust yet acoustically efficient cabinet engineered for touring and installed sound systems where uncompromising low-frequency performance is required. It represents a state-of-the-art subwoofer solution for high-end professional audio systems from VOID Acoustics.
