The Showtec Xpression 2000S Spot is a compact LED moving head spot designed for sharp projections, dynamic beam effects and professional show control. Built around a 150W LED light source, it combines a 17° beam angle, motorised focus, rotating gobos, a dichroic colour wheel, dual rotating prisms and frost effect in a medium-sized moving head format.
This fixture is designed for users who need a spot moving head with more creative control than a basic beam fixture. The 150W LED engine delivers 2392 lumens, with high measured illuminance through its focused optics. Output is listed at 686071 lux at 2m, 304920 lux at 3m and 109771 lux at 5m, giving the fixture the intensity required for visible gobo projection, aerial effects and sharp mid-air looks when used with haze.
The 17° beam angle provides a focused spot output suitable for defined lighting positions, gobo projection and moving light effects. Motorised focus allows projected gobos and beam looks to be sharpened remotely from the lighting controller, helping the fixture adapt to different throw distances and rigging positions. A frost filter is also included, allowing the output to be softened when a less defined beam is required.
Colour control is handled through a dichroic colour wheel with 7 colours plus open. This gives access to a practical range of saturated colour options while retaining the punch of a dedicated white LED source. The colour wheel can also be indexed and rotated, allowing colour changes and rainbow-style effects to be programmed as part of a lighting show.
The gobo system includes 6 bi-rotational gobos plus open. Bi-rotational gobos allow pattern movement and rotation effects, giving the fixture more visual flexibility for projection, aerial texture and dynamic stage looks. The Xpression 2000S also supports replaceable gobos, allowing custom glass or steel gobos to be used where a specific pattern, logo or projection effect is required.
Dual prism effects provide additional creative options. The fixture includes a 12-facet circular prism and a 10-facet linear prism, with prism overlay, indexing and rotation. These prisms can split and multiply the beam or projected gobo image, creating layered effects and wider visual coverage from a single fixture.
Movement is provided by 540° pan and 270° tilt, with 16-bit pan and tilt resolution for more accurate positioning. This allows smooth movement, repeatable cue placement and fast moving-head effects across a programmed lighting rig. The fixture can be used as part of a matched Xpression series setup, with colour and gobo effects designed to integrate consistently across the range.
Control options include DMX, RDM, manual, auto, built-in program, master/slave and standalone operation. The fixture supports 14 and 18 channel DMX modes, allowing users to choose between efficient control or more detailed access to movement, colour, gobos, prisms, focus, frost, dimming and shutter functions. RDM support also helps with remote fixture configuration in compatible systems.
The Xpression 2000S includes 0–100% dimming, shutter control and selectable dimmer curves including Linear, Square, I-Square and S-Curve. The refresh rate is adjustable from 1200Hz up to 15kHz, supporting smoother performance in many camera-facing environments. An LCD display provides access to menu settings and local configuration.
Power is supplied from a 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz input, with power consumption listed at 221W. The fixture uses Power Pro input and output connectors for mains linking and 3-pin XLR input/output for DMX. A Power Pro cable and quick-lock bracket are included, supporting practical setup and rigging straight from the box.
