The Sennheiser EW-D ME2/835-S is a flexible digital wireless microphone system combining both handheld and lavalier options within a single package. Designed for presenters, performers and corporate environments requiring adaptable microphone formats, the system allows either the handheld or lapel microphone to be used at any one time, offering operational flexibility for varying event requirements. It is available in both CH38 (606.2 - 662 MHz) and CH70 (823.2 - 831.8 MHz & 863.2 - 864.8 MHz) frequency bands to support licensed or licence-free operation, depending on local regulations.
The system includes the EW-D SKM-S handheld transmitter fitted with the dynamic MMD 835 microphone module, delivering clear vocal projection and reliable feedback rejection. It also features a robust metal-bodied bodypack transmitter paired with the discreet ME 2 omnidirectional clip-on microphone, engineered for high speech intelligibility and unobtrusive presentation use.
Digital wireless transmission eliminates noise, interference and static bursts associated with analogue systems, ensuring clean and consistent audio performance. UHF operation enhances range, reliability and scalability, while automated setup establishes secure connections quickly and efficiently. The EW-D Smart Assist App simplifies configuration and system management via mobile devices, removing complex menu navigation.
With up to 56 MHz of switching bandwidth and 2,240 selectable frequencies, the EW-D platform supports up to 90 channels within suitable RF environments. The transmitter delivers an impressive 134 dB input dynamic range, preserving detail across speech and dynamic vocal performance. Power options include a rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack providing up to 12 hours of operation, or up to 8 hours using standard AA batteries.
