Description
The Martin Audio SXP118 is a compact, high-performance 18" powered subwoofer designed to deliver powerful, controlled low-frequency reinforcement for professional live sound, theatre, events and fixed installation applications.
Designed as the ideal low-frequency partner for Martin Audio CDD-LIVE loudspeakers, the SXP118 combines a long-excursion 18" driver with integrated 2000W peak Class D amplification, onboard DSP and Dante digital audio networking. The result is a powerful self-contained subwoofer solution capable of delivering up to 135dB peak SPL while removing the requirement for separate amplifier racks and external loudspeaker processing.
The 18" driver features a 4" voice coil, waterproof cone and long-excursion design to deliver high output with reduced distortion and power compression. Its reflex-loaded enclosure provides substantial low-frequency impact from a relatively compact cabinet, with a frequency response extending down to 41Hz at -10dB.
Integrated DSP provides parametric EQ, filtering, gain, delay and preset control, with dedicated presets available for use alongside CDD-LIVE 8, CDD-LIVE 12 and CDD-LIVE 15 loudspeakers. Two SXP118 subwoofers can also be configured as a cardioid pair, helping to reduce unwanted low-frequency energy behind the system.
Network connectivity allows remote monitoring and configuration using Martin Audio VU-NET software, while integrated Dante provides straightforward digital audio distribution over standard network infrastructure.
Constructed from extensively braced multi-laminate plywood with a durable polyurea finish and perforated steel grille, the SXP118 is engineered for demanding professional use. An M20 threaded pole mount allows compatible full-range loudspeakers to be mounted above the cabinet, while integrated handles, mounting points and optional castors provide flexibility for both touring and installed applications.
