The Martin Audio SX112 is an ultra-compact passive subwoofer designed for installed sound systems where strong low frequency reinforcement is required from a discreet cabinet. Available in black or white, it is well suited to commercial interiors where bass performance needs to be added without using a large or visually intrusive enclosure.
Built around a 12" long-excursion driver with a 3" voice coil, the SX112 provides extended low frequency performance for background music, foreground music and compact installed audio systems. Its direct-radiating design and generously sized reflex ports help deliver clean, controlled bass output, making it an effective partner for Martin Audio ADORN, CDD and other compatible full-range loudspeaker systems.
With 400W AES power handling and 1600W peak capability, the SX112 provides a useful step up in output from smaller slimline subwoofers while remaining compact enough for installation in bars, restaurants, hotels, retail spaces, leisure venues, museums, houses of worship and AV environments. The 8Ω passive design requires suitable amplification with active crossover and EQ processing, typically handled through a compatible Martin Audio controller or amplifier preset.
The SX112 offers a frequency response of 48Hz–150Hz ±3dB, with useful extension down to 35Hz at -10dB. This allows it to add depth and impact to music playback, improving the overall system balance and giving compact loudspeakers greater warmth and authority. Its omnidirectional low frequency dispersion makes it flexible to position within the room, subject to acoustic requirements and installation constraints.
