The Martin Audio iKON iK42 is a high-power Dante-enabled 4-channel Class D amplifier designed for demanding professional loudspeaker systems. Delivering up to 20,000W total output from a compact 2U rackmount chassis, the iK42 combines high power density, advanced DSP, flexible audio input options and network-based control for installed and live sound applications.

Designed as a dedicated controller amplifier for Martin Audio Wavefront Precision, XE Monitor, FlexPoint and TORUS systems, the iK42 can also provide multi-channel amplification across a wide range of compatible Martin Audio loudspeakers. Each channel can deliver up to 5000W into 2Ω, 3000W into 4Ω, 1500W into 8Ω or 750W into 16Ω, giving system designers the output flexibility required for high-performance PA systems, monitor systems and larger loudspeaker deployments.

The amplifier includes analogue, AES3 and Dante digital audio inputs, allowing it to integrate into both traditional and networked audio systems. Dante support provides digital audio distribution over network cabling, while AES67 compatibility helps support wider interoperability within professional audio networks. Analogue XLR inputs and link outputs are also provided for conventional signal routing.

Onboard DSP provides the processing required for loudspeaker optimisation, system alignment and protection. Functions include routing, delay, gain, high-pass filtering, phase, mute, crossover filters, EQ and limiting. The limiter suite includes peak, RMS, excursion and multiband limiting, helping protect connected loudspeakers while maintaining controlled system performance.

The iK42 is controlled and monitored over Ethernet using Martin Audio’s VU-NET software, giving engineers and system technicians access to amplifier status, configuration and loudspeaker control from a connected computer. A front panel interface is also provided for local operation, making the amplifier practical for both installed racks and live production use.

A global 85–240V AC auto-sensing power supply and dual vari-speed fans with front-to-back airflow support reliable operation in professional environments.
