The Martin Audio FlexPoint FP6 is an ultra-compact passive point source loudspeaker designed for professional applications where high-quality audio, controlled coverage and flexible mounting are required from a small cabinet. Sitting above the miniature FP4 in the FlexPoint range, the FP6 offers increased output, deeper frequency response and greater versatility while remaining discreet enough for architecturally sensitive installations.
Built around a 6" low frequency driver with a 1.75" voice coil and a 0.7" exit high frequency driver with a 1.4" polymer dome, the FP6 delivers clear and detailed audio from a compact coaxial design. Its point source configuration helps provide a coherent sound field, making it suitable for both speech and music applications where clarity and consistency are important.
The 100° horizontal x 80° vertical dispersion pattern is well suited to short-throw applications, fill positions and smaller coverage zones. The FP6 can be used for spot fill, front fill, under-balcony fill, distributed installation systems, immersive audio positions, compact stage monitoring and portable corporate AV systems. It is also suitable for theatres, houses of worship, museums, galleries, bars, restaurants and performance spaces where a larger loudspeaker would be visually intrusive.
With 150W AES power handling and 600W peak capability, the FP6 delivers strong performance for its size. Its 16Ω nominal impedance also makes it useful for distributed low impedance systems, allowing multiple loudspeakers to be connected to suitable amplifier channels where the final impedance load is correctly calculated. For optimum performance, the FP6 should be used with appropriate Martin Audio system processing or compatible amplified control.
The FP6 offers a frequency response of 73Hz–20kHz ±3dB, with low frequency extension down to 57Hz at -10dB when used with the correct preset. This gives the loudspeaker a more substantial sound than its compact form factor may suggest, making it effective for high-quality music playback as well as speech reinforcement. Where additional low frequency impact is required, it can be used with a suitable Martin Audio subwoofer as part of a wider system design.
A key feature of the FP6 is its user-rotatable coaxial driver. The quick-release steel grille and captive thumbwheel arrangement allow the driver to be rotated for portrait or landscape deployment, helping align the coverage pattern correctly for the installation or event layout. This makes the FP6 particularly flexible for mixed-use systems where the speaker may need to work in different orientations.
The cabinet is constructed from durable birch plywood and finished in black hardwearing paint, giving it a professional appearance suitable for both fixed installation and portable use. The perforated steel grille with triple-layer polyester backing protects the driver while maintaining a clean, discreet look.
Mounting flexibility is supported by 4x M10 fixing points, 15x M6 fixing points and a 3/8" mic stand fixing point. This allows the FP6 to be used with a range of compatible accessories, including yokes, wall brackets, truss mounting and mic stand options. The compact 321mm x 220mm x 197mm cabinet and 5.5kg weight make it practical for many positions where larger loudspeakers would not be suitable.
