The Martin Audio FlexPoint FP4 is a miniature passive coaxial point source loudspeaker designed for professional applications where premium sound quality is required from an extremely compact cabinet. With its small 130mm x 130mm footprint and lightweight 1.9kg enclosure, the FP4 is ideal for installations and portable systems where space is limited but audio performance remains important.
Built around a 4" low frequency driver and a 0.7" exit high frequency driver with a 1" polymer dome, the FP4 delivers clear and balanced sound from a cabinet that is small enough to be used in discreet positions. Its coaxial point source design helps produce a coherent sound field, making it suitable for speech, music playback, spot fill, front fill, under-balcony fill, immersive audio positions and distributed sound systems.
The 110° conical dispersion pattern gives the FP4 broad and even coverage, making it especially useful for close-proximity listening areas. It can be used to cover small audience zones, fill gaps within a larger sound system or provide localised sound reinforcement in areas where larger loudspeakers would be visually or physically unsuitable. With 60W AES power handling and 240W peak capability, the FP4 offers impressive output for its size. Its 16Ω nominal impedance is useful in distributed low impedance systems, allowing multiple loudspeakers to be connected to suitable amplifier channels where the final impedance load is correctly calculated. This makes the FP4 a flexible option for multi-speaker designs where compact cabinets are required across several positions.
The FP4 has a frequency response of 90Hz–20kHz ±3dB, with low frequency extension down to 75Hz at -10dB when used with the appropriate preset. This provides a wide and usable response for a miniature speaker, allowing it to reproduce speech and music with clarity. For systems requiring greater low frequency impact, the FP4 can be used alongside suitable Martin Audio subwoofers as part of a wider system design.
The enclosure is constructed from plywood and finished in hardwearing textured black paint, giving the speaker a professional and durable finish for installation and portable use. A perforated steel grille with triple-layer polyester backing protects the coaxial driver while maintaining a clean front appearance.
Installation flexibility is supported by 4x M6 inserts and a 3/8" mic stand fixing point. This allows the FP4 to be used with compatible brackets or mounted on a microphone stand for temporary deployment, making it suitable for both fixed AV installations and adaptable production environments.
