The Martin Audio CDD6TX-WR is a compact weatherised installation loudspeaker supplied as a pair, designed for commercial audio systems requiring high-quality sound, 70V/100V line operation and improved environmental protection. Available in black or white, it is suitable for both indoor installations and sheltered outdoor areas where a discreet but capable loudspeaker is required.
As the weatherised transformer version of the CDD6, the CDD6TX-WR is ideal for distributed audio systems across hospitality, retail, leisure, education, corporate and public-facing commercial spaces. The built-in 70V/100V transformer allows multiple loudspeakers to be connected across larger areas or multiple zones, with selectable tap settings to help balance output, amplifier capacity and system coverage. A low impedance 8Ω option is also available, providing additional flexibility for conventional amplifier configurations.
Each loudspeaker uses a 6.5" low frequency driver with a 1.5" voice coil and a 1" fabric dome high frequency driver. This coaxial arrangement supports clear, consistent sound from a compact point-source cabinet, making the CDD6TX-WR suitable for background music, foreground music, speech reinforcement and distributed commercial audio applications. With 150W AES power handling and 600W peak capability, it provides a stronger output level than smaller CDD models while retaining a discreet installation footprint.
Martin Audio’s Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology is designed to deliver more consistent audience coverage than conventional fixed-pattern loudspeakers. The CDD6TX-WR provides a 110°–80° horizontal dispersion pattern with 80° vertical coverage, and the coaxial driver can be rotated to suit vertical or horizontal installation. This helps installers tailor the coverage to the space, whether the speaker is mounted on a wall, positioned close to a ceiling or used as part of a wider multi-speaker system.
The CDD6TX-WR is environmentally tested to IP54 and is suitable for operating temperatures from -20°C to +70°C when correctly installed. Its weatherised construction includes a water and particle resistant grille, powder coated zinc plated mild steel protection and a weatherproof input panel cover with dual cable glands. This supports neat daisy-chaining of cabinets without the need for separate external breakout boxes, helping create a cleaner and more efficient installation.
The 9 litre composite enclosure measures 210mm x 325mm x 210mm per speaker and weighs 6.77kg. The curved cabinet design allows the loudspeaker to be mounted close to a wall or ceiling using appropriate mounting hardware, with 4x M6 inserts provided for wall or ceiling bracket options. Black and white finish options make it suitable for a wide range of interiors and external architectural spaces, from darker entertainment venues through to lighter hospitality and commercial environments.
With a frequency response of 80Hz–20kHz ±3dB and peak output of 119dB, the CDD6TX-WR is well suited to applications that require a compact loudspeaker with genuine commercial performance. It can be used on its own for high-quality music and speech coverage or combined with suitable subwoofers where additional low frequency impact is required.
