The Martin Audio CDD6 is an ultra-compact passive installation loudspeaker supplied as a pair, designed for professional AV systems that require high-quality sound from a discreet and practical cabinet format. Available in black or white, the CDD6 is suitable for both darker entertainment-led interiors and lighter architectural spaces where the loudspeaker needs to remain visually sympathetic to the venue design.
Sitting above the smaller CDD5 in the Martin Audio CDD Series, the CDD6 uses a larger 6.5" low frequency driver to deliver increased output, improved low frequency response and greater system headroom. This makes it a strong choice for applications where a compact speaker is still required, but the room demands more presence and projection than a smaller cabinet can provide.
Each loudspeaker features a 6.5" low frequency driver with a 1.5" voice coil and a 1" fabric dome high frequency driver. The coaxial driver arrangement supports clear, consistent audio from a compact point-source cabinet, making the CDD6 suitable for both background and foreground music systems, speech reinforcement and general commercial sound applications.
A key strength of the CDD6 is Martin Audio’s Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology. The speaker’s coverage pattern is designed to provide wider horizontal dispersion close to the loudspeaker and more focused projection further into the room. In practical terms, this helps deliver more even sound levels across the listening area, reducing the need for excessive speaker quantities and supporting a more consistent customer or audience experience.
With 150W AES power handling and 600W peak capability, the CDD6 provides strong output from a compact installation speaker. Its 8Ω nominal impedance makes it suitable for conventional low impedance amplifier systems, with amplifier loading calculated correctly where multiple loudspeakers are connected. The 80Hz–20kHz frequency response gives the speaker a full and balanced tonal character, while the 119dB peak SPL capability gives it useful headroom for more demanding commercial environments.
The user-rotatable dispersion pattern provides additional installation flexibility. With 110°–80° horizontal coverage and 80° vertical coverage, the CDD6 can be adapted for vertical or horizontal mounting depending on the room layout, bracket position and listening area. This is particularly useful in venues where architectural restrictions, sightlines or wall positions affect the ideal loudspeaker placement.
The CDD6 is well suited to restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels, retail stores, offices, museums, galleries, education spaces, meeting rooms, reception areas and multi-purpose commercial venues. It can be used as a standalone compact full-range loudspeaker or combined with suitable subwoofers where greater low frequency impact is required for music-led spaces.
The enclosure is manufactured from rigid composite material and has a 9 litre cabinet volume, providing a durable construction for fixed installation use. At 210mm x 325mm x 210mm per speaker and 5kg each, the CDD6 remains compact enough for discreet wall or ceiling mounting while offering a clear performance increase over smaller ultra-compact models. M6 inserts are provided for bracket mounting, supporting professional installation in a wide range of commercial AV projects.
