The Martin Audio CDD5TX-WR is a compact weatherised installation loudspeaker supplied as a pair, designed for professional audio systems that require discreet styling, high-quality sound and 70V/100V line operation. Available in black or white, it is well suited to both indoor commercial spaces and selected outdoor or semi-exposed areas where the loudspeaker will be sheltered from direct exposure to the elements.
As the transformer-equipped weatherised version of the CDD5, the CDD5TX-WR is ideal for distributed audio systems where multiple loudspeakers are required across a wider area or several zones. The integrated 70V/100V transformer provides selectable tap settings, helping installers balance speaker output, amplifier loading and system coverage. A low impedance 8Ω option is also available, giving additional flexibility for conventional amplifier configurations.
Each loudspeaker uses a 5.25" low frequency driver with a 1.25" voice coil and a 0.75" fabric dome high frequency driver. This two-way coaxial design uses Martin Audio’s Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology, providing wide and consistent coverage from a compact cabinet. The user-rotatable drive unit allows the dispersion pattern to be adapted for vertical or horizontal installation, giving greater control when working with different room layouts, mounting positions and coverage requirements.
With 100W AES power handling and 400W peak capability, the CDD5TX-WR provides strong performance for a compact installation speaker. It is suitable for background music, foreground music, speech reinforcement and distributed commercial audio applications in bars, restaurants, hotels, leisure facilities, retail spaces, museums, galleries, transport hubs, concourses and covered external hospitality areas.
The weatherised design makes the CDD5TX-WR particularly useful for spaces where environmental conditions may change, while still requiring a professional audio solution. The speaker is rated to IP54 when correctly installed and includes a water and particle resistant grille, weatherproof input panel cover and dual cable glands. This allows cabinets to be daisy-chained without the need for external breakout boxes, supporting a cleaner and more efficient installation.
The cabinet is manufactured from rigid ABS and features a compact 3 litre enclosure. At 160mm x 230mm x 149mm per speaker, the CDD5TX-WR is easy to position discreetly on walls or ceilings while still delivering clear, full-range audio. The supplied weatherised pan and tilt brackets provide practical mounting flexibility and are available to match the selected black or white speaker finish.
The CDD5TX-WR offers a frequency response of 100Hz–20kHz ±3dB, with low frequency extension down to 70Hz at -10dB. This makes it suitable for clear music playback and speech reproduction in smaller commercial areas or as part of a larger multi-speaker system. For installations requiring greater bass impact, it can also be integrated with a suitable subwoofer as part of a wider Martin Audio system.
