The Martin Audio CDD12-WR is a high-output weatherised installation loudspeaker designed for professional audio systems that require premium performance, controlled coverage and improved protection for outdoor or semi-exposed environments. Available in black or white, it is suitable for commercial projects where a powerful but architecturally refined loudspeaker is required for music, speech and general sound reinforcement.
As the weatherised version of the CDD12, this model is designed for installations where the loudspeaker may be subject to changing environmental conditions while remaining sheltered from direct exposure to the elements. It is a strong option for covered hospitality areas, hotel terraces, external restaurant zones, leisure venues, transport environments, visitor attractions, education facilities, concourses, covered retail spaces and larger commercial audio installations.
The CDD12-WR uses a 12" low frequency driver with a 2.5" voice coil and a coaxially mounted 1" exit high frequency compression driver with a 1.7" voice coil. This driver configuration helps deliver strong output, clear vocal intelligibility and full-range music reproduction from a single compact cabinet. With 300W AES power handling and 1200W peak capability, the CDD12-WR is well suited to demanding foreground music and public-facing commercial audio systems.
Martin Audio’s Coaxial Differential Dispersion technology is designed to provide more consistent audience coverage than conventional fixed-pattern loudspeakers. The CDD12-WR delivers wider horizontal coverage close to the loudspeaker while projecting more effectively further into the listening area. This helps reduce excessive level differences across the space, supporting a smoother and more professional listening experience for customers, guests or audiences.
The user-rotatable coaxial driver gives installers flexibility when working with portrait or landscape mounting. With 110°–60° horizontal coverage and 60° vertical coverage, the dispersion pattern can be adjusted to suit the venue layout, mounting height and listener position. This makes the CDD12-WR practical for installations where architectural restrictions, outdoor structures, rooflines or wall positions affect the ideal speaker orientation.
The CDD12-WR operates as an 8Ω passive loudspeaker and should be used with suitable low impedance amplification and appropriate system processing. Its frequency response of 62Hz–20kHz ±3dB, with useful low frequency extension down to 50Hz at -10dB, gives it a full and balanced tonal character for larger commercial music systems. For applications requiring additional bass extension, it can also be paired with suitable Martin Audio subwoofers as part of a complete installed system.
The weatherised construction is designed to support reliable operation in more challenging environments. The loudspeaker is rated IP54 when correctly installed and includes a water and particle resistant grille, weatherised backing, stainless steel fittings, a weatherproof input panel cover and cable gland. These features help protect the cabinet and connection area while maintaining a clean professional finish.
The enclosure has a 38 litre cabinet volume. It measures 360mm x 571mm x 350mm and weighs 19.8kg, giving it the cabinet capacity and output required for larger installed audio zones while remaining compact enough for architectural integration. Mounting options are supported by 6x M8 inserts for wall bracket use and 10x M8 fly points for suspension with correctly rated hardware.
