The Martin Audio ADORN A80T is a compact 8" on-wall loudspeaker designed for professional commercial audio installations where higher output, stronger bass response and flexible system configuration are required. Supplied individually and available in black or white, the A80T is suitable for a wide range of installed sound environments where premium performance is needed from a cabinet that remains practical and visually discreet.
As the largest on-wall model in the ADORN surface-mount range, the A80T delivers a clear step up in output and low frequency capability compared with the smaller A40T and A55T models. It is well suited to background and foreground music systems in restaurants, bars, cafés, retail stores, hotels, schools, offices, conference spaces, leisure venues and wider commercial buildings. Its compact point source format also makes it useful for areas where sound quality and controlled coverage are required without moving to a larger performance loudspeaker.
The A80T uses an 8" low frequency driver with a 2" high-temperature voice coil, paired with a 1" polymer dome high frequency compression driver mounted on a 90° x 50° horn. This driver configuration gives the speaker strong output, clean midrange and controlled high frequency projection, making it suitable for both music playback and speech applications. The 63Hz–17kHz frequency response provides a full and balanced sound, with useful low frequency extension for a compact wall-mounted cabinet.
A key feature of the A80T is its integrated 70V/100V line transformer. This allows the loudspeaker to be used within distributed audio systems where multiple speakers are required across larger areas or several zones. The selectable transformer taps make it easier to manage amplifier loading, system level and coverage across the installation. For projects requiring a traditional low impedance configuration, the A80T also includes an 8Ω operating option, giving installers added flexibility when specifying amplification and system design.
With 200W AES power handling and 800W peak capability, the A80T is designed for applications that need more headroom than smaller commercial installation speakers. It can produce up to 120dB peak SPL at 1 metre, making it suitable for venues where foreground music, higher ambient noise levels or larger room coverage are part of the brief. The 90° x 50° dispersion pattern provides controlled coverage, helping direct sound into the listening area and maintain clarity across the room.
The cabinet is manufactured from ABS and fitted with a perforated steel grille for a clean, durable and professional finish. Black and white versions are available, allowing the speaker to be matched to darker entertainment spaces or lighter architectural interiors. The cabinet can also be painted where a more specific finish is required, subject to suitable preparation and installation practice.
Installation is supported by the supplied WB6/8 wall bracket, which allows the speaker to be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on the coverage requirement and room layout. The enclosure measures 246mm x 421mm x 233mm excluding the bracket and weighs 9.08kg, making it substantial enough for higher output commercial use while remaining manageable for fixed wall-mounted installation when fitted to a suitable structure.
The A80T also includes low and high frequency overload protection, supporting dependable performance in commercial systems that may operate for long periods each day. For selected outdoor or semi-exposed applications, the cabinet can achieve an IP54 rating when fitted with the optional weatherised connector cover, subject to correct installation.
