    Description

The Blustream RX70CS HDBaseT CSC Receiver is a professional 4K HDBaseT receiver designed for use with compatible Blustream matrix and transmitter products. It provides a reliable way to receive HDMI video, audio, control and power over a single CAT cable, making it a practical solution for commercial AV installations, residential AV systems and multi-display video distribution projects. The RX70CS supports HDMI 2.0 18Gbps performance, HDCP 2.2 and advanced Colour Space Conversion technology, allowing high-quality 4K signals to be managed across HDBaseT infrastructure.

Designed for professional AV environments, the RX70CS can receive 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 UHD video up to 40m and 1080p video up to 70m over a single CAT cable. This makes it suitable for a wide range of installations where HDMI needs to be extended beyond the limitations of conventional HDMI cable runs. Typical applications include boardrooms, classrooms, sports bars, hospitality venues, retail displays, conference spaces, reception areas, training rooms and high-end residential media systems.

A key benefit of the RX70CS is its CSC, or Colour Space Conversion, capability. This allows the receiver to support HDMI 2.0 18Gbps signals, including HDR, across a compatible HDBaseT system. For installers, this gives greater flexibility when working with modern 4K sources and displays, particularly where sharp image quality, strong colour performance and reliable signal handling are required. The receiver also supports all industry-standard video resolutions from 480i through to 4K, as well as PC resolutions from VGA to WUXGA.

The RX70CS also includes automatic downscaling of up to 4K 60Hz 4:4:4 video input to 1080p. This is valuable in real-world installations where not every connected display is capable of accepting the same resolution. In mixed display environments, such as commercial premises with a combination of newer 4K screens and existing full HD displays, this feature helps maintain compatibility and reduces the likelihood of signal issues.

For audio integration, the Blustream RX70CS offers strong flexibility. It supports all known HDMI audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos and DTS-HD Master Audio transmission. The receiver also provides simultaneous analogue stereo and Optical Toslink audio breakout, allowing audio from the HDBaseT input signal to be sent to an amplifier, DSP, soundbar, AV receiver or distributed audio system. This is particularly useful where a display feed needs to be combined with a separate audio system in a commercial or residential installation.

ARC support is included when the RX70CS is used with compatible Blustream hardware. This allows audio from the connected display to be returned via HDMI or Optical digital input, depending on the system configuration. For installers working on flexible AV systems, this can help simplify cabling and support more practical audio routing between screens, sources and central AV equipment.

The RX70CS is also built with control integration in mind. Bi-directional IR and RS-232 pass-through allow control signals to be sent between the display location and the central matrix or transmitter position. This is useful when source equipment is installed in an AV rack but needs to be controlled from the display end, or where a third-party control system is being used to manage source selection, display control or wider AV automation.

Power over Cable support further improves installation efficiency. When used with compatible Blustream matrix or transmitter products, the RX70CS can be powered over the same CAT cable used for signal transmission. This reduces the need for a local power supply at the display position and helps create a cleaner, more professional installation. The product listing notes that technical performance is subject to the features supported by the connected HDBaseT device, so compatibility should be checked when specifying it for a wider system.

Physically, the RX70CS is compact and easy to install behind displays, inside AV cabinets or near projector locations. It measures 140mm x 84mm x 18mm without connections, or 140mm x 98mm x 18mm with connections, and has a listed shipping weight of 0.5kg. A mounting kit is included, helping installers secure the receiver neatly within the installation.

For AV projects that require reliable 4K HDMI extension over CAT cable, the Blustream RX70CS provides a professional receiver option with strong video performance, flexible audio breakout, ARC support, control pass-through and PoC capability. It is particularly well suited for use with Blustream CSC matrix systems where dependable HDBaseT distribution, clean installation and modern 4K signal compatibility are required.
