    Description

The Allen & Heath SQ7+ is a professional 48 channel digital mixing console designed for demanding live sound, theatre, education, houses of worship, venue AV, broadcast, streaming and installed audio applications. As the largest console in the SQ+ range, the SQ7+ provides the most comprehensive hands-on control surface, with 33 motorised faders, 32 local mic/line preamps and a powerful 96kHz XCVI processing core.

The SQ7+ is built for engineers and venues that need a larger physical mixing surface without stepping into a full-format touring console. It offers 48 input channels to mix, 12 stereo aux/group mixes plus LR, and 6 mono/linkable matrix outputs, providing the routing flexibility required for front-of-house mixing, monitor sends, recording feeds, broadcast outputs, overflow rooms, assisted listening systems and distributed venue audio. This makes it suitable for complex live productions, school theatres, churches, live venues, conference spaces and multi-purpose AV systems.

At the heart of the console is Allen & Heath’s 96kHz XCVI Core, delivering high-resolution processing for professional audio environments. The SQ7+ is designed to offer fast, responsive mixing with the audio quality and system flexibility required for both live and installed applications. Each input channel includes essential processing tools such as high-pass filtering, gate, insert point, 4-band parametric EQ and compression, while mix outputs include EQ and dynamics processing for system control and output shaping.

The 33x 100mm motorised faders provide extensive hands-on control, making the SQ7+ particularly suitable for users who prefer more channels visible at one time. This is valuable in theatre, live music, worship and education environments where multiple microphones, instruments, playback channels and monitor mixes need to be managed quickly. Six channel strip layers allow the control surface to be configured around the engineer’s workflow, while custom naming, colour coding and flexible strip assignment help keep larger shows organised.

The SQ7+ features a 9" touchscreen with a modern dark interface, giving users fast access to routing, processing, metering, FX and setup functions. The touchscreen is supported by illuminated encoders, channel displays and Chromatic channel metering, helping engineers maintain clear visibility during live operation. This is particularly useful in theatres, venues and live events where lighting conditions can change during a show.

Local connectivity is one of the SQ7+’s key strengths. The console includes 32x local XLR mic/line inputs, 16x local XLR outputs, 2x TRS outputs, 3x stereo line inputs and a dedicated XLR talkback input. This makes it highly practical for venues and installations that need a significant amount of analogue I/O directly at the console position. For schools, churches and live venues, this can reduce the need for immediate stagebox expansion while still allowing future growth through the wider Allen & Heath ecosystem.

Digital expansion is handled through the 128x128 SLink port, allowing the SQ7+ to connect to Allen & Heath’s Everything I/O range of remote stageboxes and expanders. A dedicated I/O card slot supports optional cards for formats such as Dante, Waves, MADI and additional SLink connectivity, making the console suitable for more advanced audio networking, recording and system integration requirements. This gives the SQ7+ flexibility for both standalone systems and larger networked AV environments.

The SQ7+ includes 8 RackExtra FX engines with dedicated send and return channels, plus 4 RackUltra FX engines with dedicated stereo sends and returns. This gives users access to a wide range of built-in effects for live mixing, vocal processing, reverbs, delays, modulation, pitch tools and creative production workflows. RackUltra FX brings processing derived from Allen & Heath’s flagship platforms into the SQ+ workflow, giving engineers more creative control directly from the console.

For recording, playback and livestreaming, the SQ7+ includes a built-in 32x32 USB-B audio interface operating at 96kHz or 48kHz. This makes it suitable for multitrack recording, virtual soundcheck, DAW integration and live streaming workflows without requiring a separate interface. SQ-Drive functionality also supports direct USB recording and playback, giving users a practical option for capturing shows or playing backing tracks directly from the console.

The SQ7+ is also well suited to speech-led environments thanks to automatic mic mixing capability. This is useful for conferences, school events, council-style meetings, houses of worship and panel discussions where several microphones may be active at the same time. Combined with matrix outputs and flexible routing, the console can support in-room sound, recording feeds, livestream mixes and overflow zones from one central platform.

The console measures 804 x 514.9 x 198.5mm and weighs 17.8kg, making it substantial enough for professional control while still remaining practical for touring, venue and installation use. Allen & Heath’s SQ-7 platform weight and measurement documentation lists the same physical size and weight for the larger SQ surface format.

For customers who need the most complete control surface in the SQ+ range, the Allen & Heath SQ7+ provides a powerful and flexible digital mixing solution. With 48 input channels, 33 motorised faders, 32 local preamps, 96kHz XCVI processing, RackExtra and RackUltra FX, 32x32 USB audio, SLink expansion and optional audio networking, it is a professional console for live sound, theatre, education, worship, broadcast and installed AV applications.
